Album reviews: Songs of Mass Destruction, by Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox keeps on improving with her album the Songs of Mass Destruction that she still has the style and sound of all times. With her mellow voice she pulls you in on the first track. Keeping you going on the second track. Like most of her songs she is empowering women with her words. Listening to the album Songs of Mass Destruction I of course feel in love with the ballads and rocked on the more fast tracks. With this album the only song I’ve heard on the radio is Dark Road, the first song on the album. With Annie Lennox’s usual voice of comfort she pulls you into the song. Just when you think its over, here comes the upbeat and then back down.

On a more personal note I feel in love with number seven. This one song I played as I drove in the funeral procession of my grandmother’s funeral. The song’s title is LOST. As the music started and Carsmoved this one song made me realize that each day is a gift. It still soothes my soul too listen to this song, now everytime I play it my eyes close and I fall in love again with the song. Because sometimes during the day I feel lost and need to remember that life goes on. With joy and happiness.

With track nine, this song is for the people of Africa who are dying of HIV/AIDS. Annie Lennox was inspired by Nelson Mandela when he gave a speech on the genocide of Africa with HIV/AIDS being the killer. Since that day Annie Lennoxresolved to do whatever she could do, to educate and tryTo halt the spread of this deadly disease. By going on the website AnnieLennoxsing.com anyone can found out what they can doTo halt the spread of HIV/AIDS in Africa. As this disease spreads over the world more people do need to make the time and get tested.
