It is surprising, once you think about it, how many really good kids movies that have come out over the years that are geared toward kids and families. They are the ones that give you hope, enchant you and have you wishing for more. Most of the movies that I have seen, I have come to love and have collected them for my DVD’ collection. The following movies that I have picked have grabbed me by the heartstrings and wouldn’t let go.

1. The Princess Diaries

This was one of my favorite kid movies. A young girl who has no idea about her heritage finds out that she’s heir to a small kingdom’s throne. She is beautified and made into a beautiful young woman who discovers her worth and also falls in love with the one person that she had not even thought about before.

2. Enchanted

One of the many movies that tell of a fairy tale ending but with a twist. This movie starts out as animated and then changes into the real world. Giselle is a young woman who is looking for her true love. She finds him but before anything can happen, the wicked witch sends her down a well into the real world. She keeps searching for her true love, as does the Prince. Giselle and the Prince end up with different people as their true love. I loved this movie!

3. Juno

One of the few movies that I liked that dealt with teen pregnancy. Juno gets pregnant and decides that she’s going to give this baby a betterhome and family. She knows that she’s too young and immature to take care of a baby. I liked this film; mainly due to the fact that this girl had a good head on her shoulders and she knew what she had to do.

4. Lassie

My favorite of all the animal movies that were for kids. A dog that is sold makes her way back to the young master that she adores. Lassie endures many hardships and adventures as she makes her way back to her beloved master.

5. Black Beauty

Another one of my favorites that I Considerthe best for kids. A beautiful black horse with a star on his forehead is owned by many owners over his life before he is returned to the very family that first owned him to live out the rest of his days. He endures hardships, cruel owners, and myriad of other problems before finding a good home.

6. The Lion King

One of the very ideal movies that’s out for children and adults. Tales the story of a young lion whose father is killed and he feels he is the blame and goes into hiding. He grows up and heads back to the pride of hisDad’s to fight his uncle to get his kingdom back.

7. The Polar Express

Another one of the best movies for kids. Tells about a young boy who lost the spirit of Christmas and how he goes on a train ride to visit the North Pole. He makes friends, has adventures and the spirit of Christmas returns to him. Tom Hanks plays the conductor and several other characters in this movie.

These are just some of the ideal kids’ movies that have come out over the years. I think they are the ideal movies out for kids. They tell a story about someone or something which grabs you by the heartstrings. I for one loved these movies and was moved countless times when I have watched them.
