Best Movie Adaptations – I

One of the best movies ever!

With so many outstanding works of literature written over the ages of time and many of them being made into movies it would be hard for many people to selectone to bear the label of best. I however have no trouble in recommending one. The one I recommendis one based on Classic British Literature. The original novel was written by a woman, who at the timeDidn’t publish the novels in her name, they were stated to be written by “A Lady”. She began and finishedsix novels and then began another that was never finished.

To own the fact, all six of her novels have been made into movies and all of them have been successful. It is only natural that one of hers should be labeled the best. Do you know who I Speakof yet? Yes, Jane Austen and in my mind undeniably one of the best motion picture adaptations of a book would be the 1995 A&E version of Jane Austen’s novel Pride and Prejudice. The Movie starred Jennifer Ehle as Miss Elizabeth Bennet and Colin Firth as Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy.

The adaptation is approximately 6 hours long and aired as a mini-series on PBS and was later put to DVD. The movie adaptation is incredible and thought to be the best of all the Jane Austen’s novel’s made into movies.

This particular adaptation stays true to the novel and when all is said and done the director left out or changed Littleof the novel events. I adore the adaptation because the characters in the movie are true to their literature personalities and events occur in the motion picture in the same order and depth as the novel.

The characters played by Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth come to life as no other character does and make many of us wish that we were in attendance at the Netherfield Ball or were taking the tour of Pemberly House with Mrs Reynolds ourselves.

I am sure thatthere are severalwho would concur with me that the 1995 version of Pride and Prejudice is undeniably the best movie adaptation of any book. It truly makes me wish I was there seeking out my own 19th century gentleman.

I have such a passion of the novel that I have chosen to write short stories known as fan fiction based on her novels and have great pleasure form writing them and sharing them with others.

There are so many wonderful sites out there that are dedicated to the discussion of Jane Austen’s novels and her movie adaptations. All you need to is search the internet.
