Who to pick for a most memorable hero? Not Harry Potter he is just too good, same for all the Lord of the ring, characters. For most fantasy movies they are so black and white with the hero’s and a villain, who makes them almost seem less human. That’s not how our world is.

When I think of fantasy movies only one stands out. To me the most memorable fantasy hero would have to be Bowen, an unwilling hero in the motion picture Dragonheart (1996). He is thrust into being a hero, when hewould prefer just let the world fall apart around him. He’s just so human

In the movie the prince whom he had high hopes for is nearly killed but is saved by a dragon sharing his heart with him. Bowen finds that prince is a changed man, no longer the boy who he had taught the old ways to. Now he is a cruel tyrant that Cares aboutnobody, not even his own mother.

Bowen is ready to kill all dragons in order to kill the dragon who shared his heart, and thought poisoned the prince’s heart. He has killed all but one, the one who has half a heart. Bowen finds he can con the people out of money with the dragons help. So for this first part of the movie he is no betterthan an outlaw.

When he meet Drako, the dragon with half a heart, Drako tells him that it wasn’t him who poisoned the prince’s hart but the prince poisoned his. With the help of a few others he learns what the prince (who has become king) is doing in the land. He comprehend the only way to remedy the problem is to over through the king, kill him or both.

He does end up defeating the king. He becomes the hero he was needed to be and save his country. He did everything he wanted to; in the progress he made his world asuperior place for all. He helped to redeem his friend Drako, from losing his place in heaven.

He makes me see that is how people really are, with tons of faults, but most are still willing to do the right thing when needed. Theses hero’s that are just so perfect make the right choices all time; are not a mirror of the real world. Bowen is a Littleodd and very realistic, that to me is what makes him memorable.
