Science fiction movies to look forward to in 2009 – Part 2

This is the year for science fiction and fantasy movies, and fans have plenty to look forward to. Fans will fill theaters enthusiastically and let us hope that they leave the same way. Here are the ones you do not want to miss.

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li

February 27th

This video game turned movie is the journey of Chun-Li as she strives for justice, starring Kristin Kreuk as Chun-Li. If you don’t recognize the name, she played Lana Lang in Smallville. There isn’t much information available about this motion picture but those that love the street fighter games will want to see it. There is sure to be some amazing fight scenes and martial arts.

Watchmen

March 6th

It is an alternate world in 1985 when superheroes find themselves targeted for murder. They most protect themselves while trying to figure out who is behind the attacks. This is made difficult by the fact that super heroes are outlawed. Conspiracy, action, breathtaking special effects and cool superheroes, the movie is one to see this spring.

Race to Witch Mountain

March 17th

Many people remember the original Escape to Witch Mountain, will Disney have done as well creating this second Witch Mountain movie. Two siblings are protected by a UFO expert and a cabbie from the clutches of an evil organization that wants to use the children for a wicked plan. Starring The Rock, Dwayne Johnson indicates a good deal of action. Hopefully this movie will be as memorable as Escape to Witch Mountain.

Knowing

March 20th

A instructor unearths a time capsule containing some terrifying predictions, some that have already been validated. He and his family are tied to the remaining predictions. With Nicholas Cage, anticipate a quality film.

Monsters vs. Aliens

March 27th

Brought to you by DreamWorks, Monsters vs. Aliens is guaranteed to make you laugh and possibly wet yourself. Anyone that has scene a preview will second that. Aliens attack earth and the government calls upon various monsters to defend her, Susan a giant, B.O.B. a gelatinous mask, Dr Cockroach Ph. D., as well as a few other monsters comical try to save the earth. With the voice talents of Reese Witherspoon, Hugh Laurie, Seth Rogan, Kiefer Sutherland and Rainn Wilson, it is definitely a must see for the whole family.
